In August 2011, Kieron completed the first-ever walking guidebook devoted exclusively to the County High Points of Ireland. A County High Point (also referred to as a County Top or County Peak) is quite simply the highest point in a specific county – these terms are also used in Great Britain and the USA where County High-pointing is a popular challenge.
The new guidebook is scheduled for publication in early 2012, and is set to become the essential guide for walkers planning to visit any of Ireland’s County High Points. Each of the book's thirty-two chapters introduces a different Irish county before getting into the all-important walking routes. For the serious challenger, inter-walk driving routes have also been included for all the various multi-site County High Point challenges which can be undertaken in Ireland. Kieron has provided all his own original and personally-created material for this guidebook, including maps for all walking routes featured.
This book is being published by The Collins Press and is scheduled for publication in March 2012.
Further updates regarding the publication of this guidebook will be announced here and on Facebook and Twitter.
