#DecemberFamilyWalk: A Christmas Day stroll in Hillsborough Forest

A relaxing #DecemberFamilyWalk on Christmas Day at Hillsborough Forest in County Down.

My wife’s family has had a long tradition of going out for a walk together before lunch on Christmas Day. I was introduced to this family custom when I first spent Christmas Day with the in-laws in 2011.

My wife and I now share this annual event with our own children. There is something magical about walking through a forest on Christmas Day.

This year we went to Hillsborough Forest in County Down.

Hillsborough itself is a beautiful village which is worthy of a visit. On this occasion, we only passed through on our way to the forest. Earlier in the year, we called into The Parson’s Nose for a bite to eat. If you are looking for a lunch spot in Hillsborough, I can recommend The Parson’s Nose as an option.
